Travel from Manila to Bohol / Panglao

Daily flights from Manila to Cebu, or Manila directfly to Tagbilaran, Bohol on request. The air journey from Cebu to Tagbilaran takes 40 minutes. Ferries go from Cebu to Tagbilaran or Tubigon, another port north of the capital.

Mactan International Airport on the island of Cebu is served by an increasing number of airlines. At present Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Malaysian Airlines and Gulf Air all fly directly to Cebu. Aside from these direct flights you can fly to Cebu via Manila, several times a day. Have a look here for the flight-schedules.

Probably the easiest way to reach Alona Beach from Cebu is by fast ferry which takes around 90 minutes. At present there are a vast number of daily boat-chedules by fast ferry and more by slow ferry (4 hours).

Once in Tagbilaran, Bohol, you have the choice between a "tricycle" (good for two persons with luggage) or cars (good for four). The trip to Alona Beach takes about  0 minutes.

Be careful in choosing your arrival- and departure-dates. If your flight lands in Cebu on Good Friday or on Christmas day, there are no domestic flights to get you to Bohol. The ferry-boats have a day off too, so you're stuck in the city, paying for an overnight stay in a hotel and losing a day at the beach. During Easter-time it  ometimes happens that for three days in a row there is no local transportation available, so check it out !

The ferry boats charge for 'excess luggage', you are allowed to bring 15 kilo's on the boat, every kilo more will cost you five pesos, to be paid at the pier.
